Nicole Schroeder, MD Selected to Lead Surgery at MarinHealth Orthopedic Care Clinic

MarinHealth today announced the selection of UCSF’s Chief of the Hand, Elbow and Upper Extremity Service orthopedic surgeon, Nicole Schroeder, MD to lead hand and orthopedic surgery at the MarinHealth Orthopedic Care Clinic in San Rafael. This comes after the expansion of UCSF and MarinHealth’s strategic alliance in 2021, which added clinical and academic expertise to MarinHealth’s already robust medicine programs.

Dr. Schroeder, who treats all conditions and traumatic injuries in the upper extremity, is one of nine UCSF orthopedic specialists practicing at the new clinic. The orthopedic specialists provide care for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions using the most advanced treatments and newest digital X-ray imaging technology, providing patients with the ability to have their diagnostic images taken without leaving the office. The orthopedic surgeons operate in the state-of-the-art surgical suites at MarinHealth Medical Center’s new Oak Pavilion in Greenbrae, CA.

“We’re excited to welcome Dr. Schroeder to our orthopedic care clinic,” says Dr. David Klein, CEO of MarinHealth. “Our partnership with UCSF has been exceptional and having award-winning health surgeons like Dr. Schroeder to collaborate with, we’re able to provide our patients with local access to a full range of world-class specialty and subspecialty care, the latest research and technologies without having to travel to San Francisco.”

Dr. Schroeder received her bachelor’s degree from Williams College, and then completed her medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at UCSF, and subsequently completed her fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity from Washington University, St. Louis. Dr. Schroeder joined the UCSF Orthopedic Faculty in 2011. She currently serves as director ofOrthopaedic and MSK electives for the UCSF School of Medicine, as well as associate director of UCSF’s orthopedic residency program.
