Fire in Marin

Are You Ready for the Next Wildfire?

Angelico Hall at Dominican University
20 Olive Avenue
San Rafael, California
August 26, 2018
3:00 PM PT - 5:00 PM PT

The Dominican Black Canyon Neighborhood Association has joined with the SRFD (Chief Gray) and Dominican University (V.P. Marly Norris) to sponsor the very comprehensive seminar “Fire in Marin” presented by Katherine Randolph.

Katherine has been teaching her free seminar for ten years, adding improvements each year, and each year the seminar becomes more powerful, instructive and detailed. Because the seminar goes much further than our association’s May meeting, seeing Katherine’s presentation should be a “must” for everyone—both those who understand the need to protect their homes and their lives and those who have yet to be convinced of the threat of a wildfire in the Dominican Black Canyon area.

See the flyer attached below for more information

As you have seen, wildfires in Northern California are more prevalent and more dangerous to life and property than ever before. Much of Marin (such as Dominican/Black Canyon) is in the Wildland—Urban Interface (WUI), meaning a high risk of complete wildfire devastation just as we have seen to our North.

Contrary to popular belief, Marin has had hundreds of wildfires in its past, one in the twenties having burned from Tomales Bay to what is now the Hamilton area.

To learn in detail the necessary protections for your home and your life, we urge you to attend our “Fire in Marin” seminar.

The date is next Sunday, August 26th, from 3pm to 5pm. Arrive by 2:30pm to avoid the crush.

To register, please email FireinMarin@comcast.net with your name, phone number, email address, and city of residence. Katherine will then advise you of the location and space available.

When a wildfire hits, there is no time to take the action needed to keep your home from being destroyed—and often almost no time to get out.

LEARN WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW NOW!

Jack Nixon is President of The Dominican Black Canyon Neighborhood Association, former SR City Councilman, and former Foreman of the Marin Co. Civil Grand Jury.
