ACTION ALERT: Comment Period for Marin Biodiversity and Vegetation Management Plan Ends July 8

Environmental Review Comment Period Ends July 8th

The Marin County Open Space District (MCOSD) has released a draft Tiered Program Environmental Impact Report (Draft TPEIR) for the Vegetation and Biodiversity Management Plan (VBMP) for a 60-day comment period. For more information, please see the Notice of Availability. The MCOSD must receive written comments on the Draft TPEIR, no later than 4:30 p.m., Wednesday July 8, 2015, submit written comments to:

Draft TPEIR Now Available

The Draft TPEIR is available for download from this webpage. Printed and high-resolution digital copies of the Draft TPEIR and the Draft VBMP may be obtained or viewed during standard business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Marin County Open Space District, 3501 Civic Center Drive, Suite 260, San Rafael, CA 94903-4157. Copies are also available for viewing at public libraries throughout Marin County.

Public Meeting

The Marin County Parks and Open Space Commission will consider public comments on the draft TPEIR at its regularly scheduled public meeting on May 21, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Planning Commission Chambers, Civic Center, Room 328, San Rafael, California.

What's Next?

After the close of the comment period on the Draft TPEIR, the MCOSD will respond in writing to all comments relevant to the analysis of environmental impacts in the TPEIR. The Marin County Parks and Open Space Commission will then consider the VBMP and the TPEIR at a public meeting, and make a recommendation to the MCOSD Board of Directors, who will consider approval of the VBMP and certification of the TPEIR at a subsequent public meeting. The MCOSD has not determined the dates for these public meetings.
