Greg Brockbank, Former Member, San Rafael City Council, and College of Marin Trustee

To begin our 44th year of luncheon events, the Marin Coalition is pleased to present a preview on the upcoming November elections. Dick Spotswood, popular Marin Independent Journal columnist, and Greg Brockbank, longtime local political pundit, will provide us with an update and commentary on local election races, statewide candidates and ballot measures, and the outlook for control of Congress next year. As usual, the event will include a question and answer period. Attendees should expect an informative and lively discussion.

DICK SPOTSWOOD

is the politics and government columnist for The Marin Independent Journal. His IJ columns appear every Sunday and Wednesday. A San Francisco native, Dick is a former Mill Valley city council member (1980-92) and three-term Mayor. He served for ten years (1982-92) as a Director of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District representing Marin’s eleven cities and towns. After four decades as an attorney, Dick has now retired from the law.

GREG BROCKBANK

is a self-confessed political junkie of Marin politics, having compiled candidate lists for over 20 years. A frequent speaker and writer, he appears frequently on public access TV to analyze and discuss local elections. Greg is a 30+-year attorney, current principal of Marin Law Center, senior member and immediate past chair of the Marin Democratic Party, and has served on the boards of several dozen civic and political organizations in Marin, including 22 years as an elected official on the College of Marin Board of Trustees and on the San Rafael City Council.
