Zellerbach Family Foundation Accepting Applications for Bay Area Art Projects

Zellerbach Foundation
575 Market Street, Suite 2950
San Francisco, California 94105
June 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017

Originally named the Zellerbach Family Fund, the Zellerbach Family Foundation was established in 1956 by Jennie B. Zellerbach. In the years since, the foundation has distributed more than $70 million in charitable support. From its inception, the foundation has focused on the San Francisco Bay Area, where the Zellerbach family has deep roots. Since 1868, when Anthony Zellerbach began selling paper from his horse-drawn wagon in San Francisco, the Zellerbach family has been active in the economic, religious, artistic and philanthropic life of the community.

The foundation is accepting applications for its Community Arts Program, which supports local artists who are creating new and innovative work that is representative of the diverse cultures and communities of the Bay Area. Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded for projects in the areas of dance, theater, visual arts, music, festivals, poetry, literature, and publications. Priority will be given to contemporary performance-oriented projects.

To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit arts-serving organization serving San Francisco, Contra Costa, and Alameda counties (west of the Caldecott Tunnels). Individual artists must have a fiscal sponsor in order to be eligible for funding.

See the Zellerbach Family Foundation website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
