Urgent: MMWD Board openings up for re-election

August 9, 2016 to August 12, 2016

Two MMWD Board seats are up for re-election - Division 2 and Division 5 (see map at the bottom of this article). The deadline is this Friday, August 12th. One member has already filed, the other intends to by the deadline.

This is the Board of Directors that voted unanimously for a 27% rate hike in spite of a very questionable voting process, strong taxpayer opposition, and a highly successful effort at water conservation by consumers.

This is the Board of Directors that denied that the hike was largely needed to pick up the rising cost of pension benefits promised to employees, some who also receive Social Security and all who receive gold plated health plans - all approved by the board of directors.

So far there are no challengers. If you live in either of these MMWD "divisions", please consider serving.

No challengers to this election will signal an acceptance of the status quo, and nothing will change at Marin Municipal Water District.
