Opening on Marin Law Library Board of Trustees

San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Board of Supervisors is looking for applicants to serve on the Marin Law Library Board of Trustees. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. February 19, 2016. Applicants must be residents of Marin County.

At 124 years of age, Marin has one of the oldest law libraries in the state. It’s an essential resource for law students, court reporters, paralegals, attorneys in smaller practices and individuals representing themselves in court.

The law library provides access to legal information through a variety of media, research assistance, and technologies needed to give practical expression to the law. According to its mission, it maintains a flexible and supportive presence that fosters the ends of community service and social justice. In each California county, a Law Library Board of Trustees is established and governed by California Business and Professions Code Section 6300-6307.

Ideally, applicants will have fundraising experience, as funding from court filings has been dwindling and an alternative source has yet to be identified.

Apply online or learn more about the application process by calling the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at (415) 473-7331. You can also request an application by mail or email at: Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, Suite 329, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael CA 94903, bos@marincounty.org.

Applications postmarked but not received by the February deadline will not be accepted.

All public meetings and events sponsored or conducted by the County of Marin are held at accessible sites. If you are a person with a disability and require information

or materials in alternative formats – or if you require accommodation to participate in a county program, service or activity – please contact department staff at (415) 473-7331 or (415) 473-4381 (voice/TTY) or e-mail disabilityaccess@marincounty.org.
