12:00 PM PT - 1:30 PM PT
Gerald Warburg, Marin native and Professor of Practice of Public Policy, Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, University of Virginia, is the author of Saving Point Reyes, How an Epic Conservation Victory Became a Tipping Point for Environmental Policy Action. He will present a discussion of his new, highly acclaimed history of the Pt. Reyes National Seashore and the decades-long effort to save this iconic region from over-development and environmental degradation.
A Marin native, he will describe his years of research and investigation to bring this new chronicle to fruition and will discuss the lessons policy-makers can glean from the events that led up to the present. The story of this unique open space – with its wild seashore, tule elk, elephant seals, lighthouse, and hiking trails – will be of interest to everyone in Marin.
Please join us for what we know will be a fascinating conversation with the author. As always, our speaker will engage the audience in a Q&A period following his presentation . He has graciously agreed to sign copies of his book, a limited quantity of which will be available for purchase for $25 each (please bring cash or check; no credit cards).
Cost is $38/person to cover the luncheon expense (choice of three entrées). More information and registration can be found on the Marin Coalition website on the Our Next Program page.
Deadline for registration is March 4.
