Oak Hill Public EIR Scoping Meeting

Zoom Meeting - details in attachment
April 11, 2022
5:00 PM PT - 8:00 PM PT

Marin Post Readers,

The State of CA's chosen developers continue to push forward with their plan for a 250 unit housing development on East Sir Francis Drake on a 5 acre portion of the shooting range parcel, right next to Drakes Cove (of which I am the HOA Board President).

I have attached the Notice of Preparation, which details the subjects to be covered at anApril 11, 2022 5:00 PM Zoom meeting, and how to submit written comments that those preparing the EIR must account for and address reasonably. I invite all citizens to make written comments and attend the zoom meeting if they are able. Public Comments are open until April 25, 2022, at 5:00 PM.

As a resident adjacent to the proposed project, I am not opposed to any and all housing on the site. But I do feel that 250 units is far too dense, and that the seven-story structure proposed is too massive and bulky for the site. A traffic report is forthcoming within a couple of weeks, and I will post again when it is available.

In my opinion, state law and regulation sets up the traffic analysis criteria in a way that almost any development will be approved. The proposed projects will add 325+ cars to the site, many of which will have to make ingress and egress during rush hour. I don't see how so many cars can be added at that location without exacerbating rush hour delays, but I wait the Traffic Report and its technical details.
