Prevent the deployment of dangerous 4G and 5G “small cell” antennas in San Rafael

A Call to Action -
Please help prevent the deployment of dangerous 4G and 5G
“small cell” antennas on a telephone or light pole near you by asking the City
to pass a strong Urgency Ordinance. Such an ordinance should prevent
installations in residential neighborhoods, and include safeguards such as
science-based distances between antennas, setbacks from homes, and strict
application / permitting requirements.
THE PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE
Serious adverse health effects may result from round-the-clock, high-frequency millimeter wave radiation from close proximity antennas. From Dr. Ronald Kostoff, Georgia Institute of Technology: “Small Cells would be a major contributing factor to the onset of myriad serious diseases, and would result in far more suffering and premature deaths than the mass shootings that capture our attention in the media.” (2018, letter to Maryland elected officials)
Thousands of peer-reviewed studies worldwide, including those by the World Health Organization and the National Institute of Health, show clear evidence of harm caused by wireless exposure, including cancer, Parkinson's, abnormal brain function, infertility, headaches, insomnia, confusion, weakness, autism and more. Research also demonstrates adverse effects on wildlife, pollinators and trees.

WHAT: Presentation by Attorney Jonathan Kramer, Telecom Law Firm, followed by important Council discussion and opportunity for the public to speak. Giving your name and a few words is sufficient, but the Council will provide two minutes for each speaker.

**San Rafael provides up to two minutes for public comment, but simply stepping to the podium, giving your name and just a few words about your concern is enough to be counted!
Recently, two East Coast communities have pushed back against the threats of new antennas by employing creative strategies.
Let's fill the San Rafael council chambers on Dec. 3, and let council members know that we support their efforts, and that we urge resourceful, firm strategies to protect the public from harmful radiation.
