MTC Seeks Public Transportation and Planning Policy Advisors

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission, the region’s transportation planning and funding agency, is recruiting 27 individuals for its Policy Advisory Council, an advisory committee created by the Commission.
The mission of the Council is to advise MTC on transportation-related policies in the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area, incorporating diverse perspectives regarding the environment, the economy and social equity.
As advisors, individuals will be asked to advise on a range of topics including regional planning efforts linking transportation, housing and land use plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from cars and light-duty trucks, and public transit service productivity improvements, among other topics. Whether you are a community activist or a business professional, there could be a seat for you.

MTC Commissioners will review applications and make appointments for the four-year term currently scheduled to begin in September 2017. Council members are expected to regularly attend committee meetings during business hours at MTC’s San Francisco offices and will receive travel reimbursement and a stipend for their time.
The application deadline is June 12, 2017.

About the Council
Meetings are open to the public and held on the second Wednesday of the month at MTC's offices.
All Policy Advisory Council meetings are audio-cast and archived here on our website. Meeting materials are posted one week in advance of the meeting.
Advisory Council members are appointed by the Commission, and must be wiling to serve a four-year term. Advisors are eligible for a stipend to cover cost of meeting attendance.
