The Marin Post Deletes its Twitter Account in Protest
The Marin Post had deleted its Twitter account in protest of the widespread abuse of that platform and the lack of any effort by the company to correct these abuses.
We now consider the vast majority of content on Twitter to be unreliable and highly biased, if not outright false, to the point that its content is of no value to our readers.
Twitter has intentionally allowed itself to become a platform for bigotry, malice, xenophobia, racism and most of all outright stupidity.
As an example, since the controversy created by Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham's comments about Florida school massacre survivor David Hogg, agencies that track the sources of Twitter users have found that the activity of Russian bots and foreign propaganda jumped 2800% in the first 48 hours.
Meanwhile, Twitter has done nothing to correct this and seems content to sit back and make money off of the misery and misfortune of our nation's children, by monetizing traffic counts through advertising.
Enough already.
