There have been 47,220 gun incidents in the U.S. in 2018

In light of the attempted assassination of two former presidents, one former vice president and numerous other government officials and individuals, and the brutal massacre of almost a dozen people in Pittsburgh, this week, it is worth everyone taking a moment to pause and consider what a violent country we have become.

As reported by Marketwatch, in 2018 alone, including the most recent carnage at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, there have been 47,220 gun-related incidents resulting in 11,984 deaths in the United States, according to data compiled by Gun Violence Archive, an independent data-collection and research group.
