Sausalito Ferry Landing Larger than Expected -- Raises Concerns.

Frustrated over the lack of a 3D model for the proposed ferry landing, a few Sausalito residents visited a South San Francisco WETA ferry landing that is approx. 29% smaller than what is being proposed in Sausalito.

These Sausalito residents were "awestruck at the immense physical size (primarily height) and presence of this landing which is approximately 29% smaller than the terminal being proposed for Sausalito." Although the hydraulics' noise was acceptable in range, the massive size of this South SF landing was of great concern -- and it is 29% SMALLER than what's proposed for Sausalito.

Two Photos from the South SF WETA Ferry Landing:

To understand the large dimensions in the above photos, resident Sam Chase, who visited the South SF WETA terminal, created this table comparing Sausalito's existing ferry landing to the South SF WETA Ferry landing they visited and, finally, to the Bridge District's Proposed Ferry Landing for Sausalito (below) :

ACTION!

We have 4 council members and 1 vacant seat. The council allowed the District to push a vote with just 4 council members before our Nov. election. Unfortunately, a split vote (2 Yes Council, 2 No Council) is a tie which means "approval."

The bottom line: At least 3 council members must vote NO to stop this thing. If 2 council members vote yes, Sausalito is stuck with this.

All Sausalito councilmembers should visit this South SF WETA Ferry Landing to understand the bulk that Sausalito could be stuck with if 2 council members vote yes this Tuesday night.
