CSPP District 3 Endorsement - Susan Kirsch
CSPP Endorsement for Susan Kirsch – District 3 Supervisor Race
Citizens for Sustainable Pension Plans (CSPP) enthusiastically supports and endorses Susan Kirsch for Marin County Supervisor, District 3.
Marin County faces many challenges. Our elected officials have allowed our county to become buried in massive unfunded public sector retiree debt which will pass to future generations. We are experiencing cuts in services and higher taxes, rates and fees as a result of this broken system.
Opportunities for reform and transparency have been dismissed by the current Board of Supervisors. It is time to elect leaders who will address the issues which have resulted from government failure.
Susan Kirsch stands out as an individual with knowledge, energy and a desire to see the citizens of Marin County have complete and open engagement with their government. She knows the county well, having lived in Mill Valley for 36 years.
As chair of Marin Coalition, she has conducted public programs about pension reform, the SMART train, ABAG and MTC. As founder of Citizen Marin, she has organized community leaders to take action regarding Plan Bay Area and high density housing development near transportation.
Susan understands fiscal and organizational issues. Her wide-ranging experience in education and the nonprofit world includes developing and monitoring budgets, fund development, strategic planning and executive coaching. She has worked with a diversified client base with missions to improve affordable housing, mental health, recovery, restorative justice, and small business development.
We have met with Susan on several occasions and are convinced that she has all the qualities needed to have a positive impact in this county. She is open, thoughtful, analytical and a creative thinker. She is respectful of the ideas of others and willing to take on positive - although often difficult - changes.
We have a unique opportunity to see positive change in Marin County. It will begin with the selection of leaders who make that change their #1 priority. It will begin with the election of Susan Kirsch for District 3 Supervisor.
