Citizens of Strawberry Stand Up to Supervisors and Oppose Medical Office Use at Belvedere Place

The greater Strawberry community should be very proud of the way local citizens comported themselves and represented our interests at the Bently Holdings hearing before the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, February 9, 2016.

Please see the extraordinary video of the hearing starting at 1:37:20 (about 25 minutes):

I want to thank Strawberry residents Jan Heinemann, Sue Thornley, Ulrike Steinbach, Christine Lasus, and Julie Brown for their service to our community and for their excellent presentations in opposition to medical office use at #1 and #2 Belvedere Place, which is currently prohibited by our Master Plan and Precise Development Plan.

I especially want to thank Margarita Perry and Sivi Hardiman, who are representatives of Merrill Lynch, for their insightful presentations in opposition to medical office use from a marquee tenant’s perspective. They pointed out the inappropriateness of medical office use in buildings that were not designed for it, including a myriad of traffic and public safety issues, and the resulting disruptions to well-established businesses in the buildings.

The Supervisors, Planning Commissioners, and County Staff are not doing the required due diligence. We are forced to do the work for them. These conditions are unacceptable. That’s why we need to elect new Supervisors in June.

The next Board of Supervisors hearing on this matter is March 15, 2016. This could be the final hearing. We need your support, so please try to attend.

Thank you for your continuing interest, and thank you for reading my postings.

Regards to All,

Bruce Corcoran
