The Papal Message From Pope Francis That Spares No One... And For Good Reason
The encyclical issued by Pope Francis is entitled “Laudato si’ ” - which means, “Be Praised.” It is must reading. Without hesitation, it may be one of the most important documents issued thus far in the 21st Century.
Considering that there are over 1 billion Catholics in the world, most of whom live in emerging market nations, it is likely to have a significant impact on the tone of world geo-political thought.
The entire encyclical is attached below. It has already been called the document that no one will like. And for good reason. It challenges so many assumptions that most of us take for granted that this alone makes it something well worth considering.
Although it may not address our specific challenges in Marin, it asks us to question many aspects of our lives and take a much needed longer term view about the world we're creating. And it contains an underlying message of preservation of what we have rather than continuing down a path of endless growth and consumption of resources.
