From time to time we have received questions and comments about "popup ads" and requests to approve using "cookies" when our readers click on certain types of posts. However, these popup ads or "cookies" notices are not on the Marin Post website.
This experience can occur because the Marin Post allows users to post "NEWS" and "MEDIA" "links" to other websites, and some of those third party websites may use cookies or have popup ads on them.
Rest assured that the Marin Post website only displays static ads in the right hand column of the Home page. These ads use our own proprietary, custom-built software. The Marin Post does not use cookies or popup ads.
When you click on a NEWS or MEDIA post, you are navigating away from the Marin Post site and go to a third party website. If that site requires any type of approval of cookies or has advertising that you find offensive or problematic, we advise you to simply close that browser tab and exit those sites. We have no control over third party publishers.
We do our best to ensure that the News and Media links posted by users, link to other legitimate websites on the Internet, but that content or the opinions of those third party websites do not represent the views nor are they endorsed by the Marin Post.
Thanks for being a Marin Post reader.
