A letter sent to the Board of the Ross Valley School District. This letter is in regards to the special meeting on April 17th where the Board will consider a charter petition from the Heartwood Educational Collaborative.
Dear RVSD Board and Superintendent Bagley,
I believe that inter-district resource-sharing is essential since educational funding is scarce. Art, music, PE & drama programs should be shared across district schools when individual schools can't afford their own programs.
I believe that the charter school structure inherently impedes this type of sharing. A charter school's different curriculum, rules, and schedule make efficiently sharing resources impossible.
In my opinion, this isn't a right or wrong question, but a common sense question. Say no to confusion and yes to sharing. Deny the Heartwood charter petition.
Sincerely,
Charles Cornwell
