Citizens for Sustainable Pension Plans recommends Toni Shroyer for county supervisor for District 5.
Marin County faces many challenges. Among the most pressing is massive unfunded public sector retiree debt which will pass to future generations. We are experiencing cuts in services and higher taxes, rates and fees as a result of this broken system.
In recent years, members of the Board of Supervisors, including Judy Arnold, have largely dismissed calls for reform. There has been no position taken by them on a critical appeals court decision in MAPE vs. MCERA, which will be heard in the near future by the state Supreme Court.
Toni Shroyer has consistently spoken out on the need for pension reform.
It is time to elect leaders who will courageously address the issues which have resulted from government failure. It is time for new ideas, new approaches and a new perspective on the Marin Board of Supervisors.
Toni Shroyer represents that new voice and energy. She has openly expressed a deep concern and commitment to address vital issues of concern to all citizens of Marin — the rich, the poor, the middle class struggling to make ends meet, and for seniors.
Her background in dealing with complex issues that require diplomacy and financial skills prepare her to serve Novato District 5.
