The Marin County Civil Grand Jury would like your help.
We are researching the topic of public engagement and want to hear your views of how well your city, incorporated town, and the County of Marin engages with you.
Public engagement is a range of methods through which government agencies provide the public with more and better information about their decisions and meaningful opportunities to influence those decisions.
Today, local governments throughout California are applying a variety of public engagement strategies and approaches to address issues ranging from land use and budgeting to climate change and public safety. They are discovering a number of benefits that can result from the successful engagement of their residents in local decision making. In addition to improvement of decisions, these potential benefits include more community buy-in and support for agency decisions with less contentiousness, faster project implementation with less needless time and expense spent on revisiting a decision, and residents with more confidence and trust in their local government.
We invite you to express your views on public engagement by completing a quick survey. The voluntary feedback provided through this survey by residents like you not only assists the Marin County Civil Grand Jury but, ultimately, the area in which you live.
If you reside in one of our 11 cities or incorporated towns, please type the following URL into your browser or search bar and complete the survey (which has additional questions about the County): http://goo.gl/Gw8wJ9
