Policy analyst, journalist, writer, and (recovering) lawyer
San Anselmo, California

I started "the all aspect report" in 2019, as an independent voice in California and nationwide. I’m a policy analyst, journalist, writer, and (recovering) lawyer.

I’ve worked with and represented clients ranging from Global 100 corporations and venture capital firms to Hurricane Katrina survivors, veterans, and low income public school students.

My journalistic efforts have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, CBS News, The Boston Globe, The Los Angeles Daily News, The Orange County Register, New Geography, The Recorder, CityWatch, Reason, L.A. Journal, and elsewhere. Among other issues I write about homelessness, education, energy, infrastructure, transportation, law, and planning and development. I am an active member of The Los Angeles Press Club.

Growing up in Los Angeles I was immersed in news and public policy. My father had a career in media that spanned 50 years, including nearly 30 with KNX radio, the greatest station in L.A. My mother is a lifelong political addict and environmental advocate.

I gave my first televised report at the age of ten, a review of the bacon cheeseburger at the state fair in Puyallup, Washington for KIRO News 7 (I rated it the third best burger I’d ever tried, behind only Fatburger’s Kingburger with Cheese and the other-wordly triple bacon chili cheddar cheese burger at a roadside stand called El’s outside Black Butte, Oregon).

I received my bachelor’s degree in Political Economy and History from Boston College and my law degree from the University of California Hastings College of Law. I served as a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas S. Zilly in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington and practiced litigation with a focus on public policy, infrastructure, and energy.

As a fifth generation Californian, I am especially passionate about the Golden State and the amazing, crazy, endlessly surprising people who call it home.
