Mimi Willard is the founder and president of CO$T, a nonprofit, non-partisan organization representing the interests of Marin County taxpayers.

Mimi spent two decades as a top-ranked research analyst on Wall Street before coming to California and making Marin her home. Her background and expertise in investigative research and scrutinizing financial filings inform her writings

Mimi’s writing and community activist pursuits aim to encourage best practices in local governance. She advocates for improving flawed public engagement processes and having elected officials be more responsive to constituents rather than special interests.

Mimi’s successful local community activist efforts include leading the fight to Save the College of Marin Track; helping organize opposition to the development of the Larkspur Landing Station Area Plan; and assisting Larry Bragman’s campaign for Marin Municipal Water District Board. Through published Op-Ed pieces in the Marin IJ and public meeting comments, Mimi has worked to garner support for these and other local issues.

Ms. Willard’s postgraduate studies include finance at New York University; several years’ postgraduate research in biology at the University of Cambridge and The Rockefeller University; and M.A. and MPhil degrees in history from Yale University, focusing on political journalism. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
