The Marin IJ reports today that the Transportation Authority of Marin spent 30k to learn that most Marin traffic congestion is caused by local driving to and from local services and places.
Anyone who has lived in Marin for more than a year and is older than a toddler could have told them to just look around in the past couple weeks, since school let out and they would have surmised the same thing. But, then in Marin, our agencies do not possess any common sense nor do they believe anything is a fact unless they pay a lot of money for the opinion.
But, then my question is this: What happened to all the rhetoric and brow-beating we've been forced to endure, seemingly forever, to justify high density housing, about how all our traffic is being caused by all those service workers who have to commute to work in Marin?
All those service workers were still commuting to work here, but suddenly, there's hardly any traffic. Will wonders never cease.
