Novato Unified School District currently receives revenues from four taxes/bonds, courtesy of Novato homeowners. Last November, the voters passed Measure G, yet another school bond (there are 10 more years on the current bond that NUSD has already burned through), which will levy the taxpayer another 25 years.
The Novato homeowner will pay anywhere from $300 to $2,000 per home, basically for the rest of many of their lives. This bond also has an escalation clause which will increase that amount 2% each year.
In addition to our taxes growing wildly, so are the weeds at NUSD. Grass is growing sky high at the Sinaloa Junior High School and the San Marin High School upper baseball field. This is a fire hazard and safety issue for our children. The San Marin JV Baseball Team are losing their balls in the high weeds and can trip in unseen holes due to lack of proper maintenance. Novato is also known for having poisonous rattle snakes, which could be hiding in the grass.
Is this NUSD's THANK YOU to the voters?
Don't our children deserve to be safe?
Does NUSD's insurance company know about these liabilities?
Why NUSD? Why?
