The Friends of Novato Creek have monitored water quality in the Novato Creek Watershed for over a decade.
Our volunteer group measures quality and cleans up sites throughout the Novato Creek watershed from above Stafford Lake Reservoir to the San Pablo Bay.
I am concerned that runoff from manure and livestock originating on Grossi lands is polluting Stafford Reservoir, a source of drinking water for Novato residents.
Our baseline chemical
and biological studies show that the issue of individual point sources,
such as livestock grazing, makes a huge impact on water quality. But
this runoff is not actively monitored by agencies like the Regional
Water Quality Board.
The North Marin Water District has tried for many years to reduce this pollution, even paying to move the Grossi’s manure, without success, as the IJ has reported. The problem still exists.
We are left wondering how can we trust Dominic Grossi to do the right thing for his constituents when he refuses to protect our drinking water supply from pollutants?
I encourage Novato residents to support Dennis Rodoni, who has a proven track record of protecting our water supply, public health and protecting the environment in Marin.
